Kali Charan P .G College, Lucknow is one of the esteemed institutions of learning and is situated on the bank of holy river Gomti in Chowk area of West-lucknow. This institution is being run by Kali Charan Vidyalaya Endowment Trust, Lucknow which was constituted in 1912. Since beginning District magistrate, Lucknow is ex-offcio President of this institution. Founder Manager of Kali Charan Vidyalaya Endowment Trust was Honorable Babu Ganga Prasad Verma. He was a renowned journalist, a social worker and also founder member of Indian National Congress in 1885. The first Management Committee of the Kali Charan Vidyalaya Endowment Trust comprised of the following dignitaries: 1.The Deputy Commissioner, Lucknow, General Hume, Ex-officio 2.The Inspector of Schools, Lucknow Division, Ex-officio 3.The Honorable Babu Ganga Prasad Verma, proprieter of the "Advocate" and "Hindustani",Lucknow 4.Babu Kedarnath, Advocate, Lucknow 5.Pandit Gokaran Nath Misra, M.A., L.L.B., Advocate, Lucknow 6.Babu Hari Kishan Dhaon,B.A., L.L.B.,Advocate, Lucknow The college was established by a prominent social worker Late Lala Kalicharan Mehrotra in 1913 as Kali Charan High school . In 1948 it developed into an Intermediate college which later became a Degree college in 1973 and grew into a Post Graduate College from session 2005-06. At the time of establishment of this institution , Late Shri Ganga Prasad Verma helped immensely and it was due to his active support that the institution took its present shape. A very prominent figure of Hindu Literature late Babu Shyam Sundar Das was the first Principal of Kali Charan High School. Later on due to efforts of famous educationist Late Shri Kali Das Kapoor it became an intermediate college which later on became a degree college due to sincere efforts of management of the college anf other devoted educationists and social workers. This college is associated with University of Lucknow and is presently running courses in Arts and Commerce faculty.
