Kakching Khunou College

The Kakching Khunou College was established on the 12th July, 1981 to serve the specific needs of the remote and backward areas of the southern periphery of Manipur by the people of Kakching Khunou with the support of neighbouring villages. The primary objective of the establishment of the college was to open up the doors of higher education in the region with a view to provide the very access to the higher education to the rural youths to whom it was a distant dream as there is no other government or private College in the vicinity within the radius of about 25 Km. The college is situated at a distance of 63 km from the state capital Imphal and 45 km from the district headquarter, Thoubal where the valley and hill portion of the state meet in the southern part of Manipur along the state highway known as Indo Myanmar Sugnu Road. It is in the vicinity of the two hill districts of Chandel and Churachandpur and the valley district of Bishnupur covering 60 odd villages.
