Education, in India, since ancient times, considered as the Liberator. Upanishadic aphorism reads, ?Education is that which Liberates?. Buddhism conceived education as a means of ?Nirvana?. In line with this tradition of considering education a means of liberation, education in independent India is looked at as an effective and non-violent agent of social transformation. In fact, the Indian Education Commission (1964-66), in a highly optimistic fashion said, ?Destiny of India is being shaped in her Classrooms.? In its conception, education has been assigned the role in reaching the destiny that sketched in the Preamble of Indian Constitution. To make the education an effective means in social transformation, imparting quality education in schools is an imperative. To provide quality education in schools, there needs committed teachers, who at the same time impart quality education with a sense of equality and social justice. This educational endeavour can be met only when teachers are prepared and trained in required skills and values. Jangaon Educational Society, by appreciating the need to prepare teachers of high competencies with a sense of social commitment, initiated Jangaon College of Education in Rural vicinity, at Jangaon, District Warangal, Andhra Pradesh in the Year 2002-2003. Jangaon College of Education committed with an objective to prepare cognitively competent, professionally committed and socially sensible teachers.Jangaon College of Education is established with a view to provide qualitative education and service activities in this part of Warangal Dist. This college is initiated by well educated and highly qualified persons.The College has been assured in to existences in the academic year of 2002-03 with intake capacity of 100 trainees with a view of providing trained graduate teachers to the various educational institutions of Andhra Pradesh especially in the districts of Telangana. The college is affiliated to the KAKATIYA UNIVERSITY, Warangal and also recognized by N.C.T.E., New Delhi. The college is located in Siddipet Road in a peaceful atmosphere with spacious play ground in beautiful environment.
