Haldia Government College

Haldia Government College (HGC), Medinipur was established in 1988 by the state government in the erstwhile Midnapore district. It is the only government college in Purba Medinipur district. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate Degree programs in various fields of Arts and Science streams. It is affiliated to Vidyasagar University and Netaji Subhas Open University. The programs are approved by University Grants Commission (UGC). It has well qualified teaching staff having years of experience in the field of education and industry. The Institute has separate accommodations for girls and boys with all modern facilities. HGC has Career Counselling cell, sponsored by UGC that organizes counselling workshops for students every year. This cell also organizes interactive sessions between students and various professionals to give the students an idea about different kinds of career opportunities. The main objective of the college is over-all development of student in terms of personality, communication and professional skills development.
