Govt National College

This college was established as a private college in the year 1957. It came in to existence as Government institute immediately after getting taken over by the Government authorities on January 22, 1979. For the last 57 years this college has been catering the need of the District. This is the only co-educational college in this educationally backward District of the state in which Post Graduation courses in Psychology, Punjabi, Hindi, English, Political Science and economics besides the graduation passing courses are taught. The college runs in the morning as well as evening session. The students can get admission in Humanities, science, commerce in the morning session and in Humanities in the evening session. Evening shift was started in 1968 for catering the academic need of working students. This shift has shown the good academic results for the last 45 years and has proved a blessing for working students Situated in the north of Delhi ? Fazilka NH and east of Sirsa- Chandigarh route, it is spread over the area of 30 acres which includes hostel, play ground, open air theatre, canteen, library, teaching blocks and parking place for vehicles. There is a branch of UBI and Post office also. Innumerable trees and lush green gardens increases the beauty of the college campus. There is arrangement of water coolers for the cold water. It is hoped that new building for the girls wing will be starting soon.
