NCTE recognition Orders : B.Ed - F.SRO/NCTE/2006-07/7208 dated: 10.08.2006 Intake: 100 M.Ed - F.SRO/NCTE/2007-2008/12725Dated:8.10.2007 Intake: 25 M.Ed - F.SRO/NCTE/2010-2011/20955 Dated: 3.9.2010 Intake: 25+10 Excel College of Education was started in the year 2006 at Komarapalayam, Namakkal District with an intake of 100 students with the approval of NCTE, New Delhi and affiliation of Periyar University, Salem. In the first year itself it registered 100% result in the University Examination. M.Ed. course was started in the next year with an approved intake of 25 students. Tamilnadu Teachers Education University took over the affiliation of all Education Colleges of Tamilnadu under single University in 2009. Mrs.S.Suganthi, our 2009 batch M.Ed. student received Gold medal from Sri.K.Ponmudi, the Minister for Education in the First Convocation of Tamilnadu Teachers Education University for achieving First Rank in ?Education in the International Context? with 86% marks. Mrs.S.Suganthi also scored 484/700 and achieved the First Rank in Namakkal District. Another M.Ed. student, Mrs.Mary Rita Martina received Gold Medal in the first convocation of Tamilnadu Teachers Education University for scoring 78% marks in ?Advanced Psychology.? Our students achieved 99% result in the University Examinations. National level seminars are being conducted every year. The College has compiled the research papers submitted in the seminars and published two books with ISBN standard through APH Publishers, New Delhi titled ?Quality Concerns in Teacher Education? and ?ICT in Teaching Learning? NCTE, New Delhi enhanced the intake of M.Ed. students from 25 to 35 from the year 2010. Since 2010, Excel College of Education admits 100 students in B.Ed. and 35 students in M.Ed. The College is shifted to the permanent premises in Pallakapalayam, Namakkal District on 5th March 2012 with modern infrastructure comprising of all required labs, Class rooms, library, auditorium, seminar hall, rest rooms, hostel, play ground and other facilities. NAAC has accredited the College by awarding ?A? grade with CGPA of 3.13 on 4 point scale on 21st February 2014 for a period of 5 years.
