DR.S.RAMADOSS ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE Located at PERIYAVADAVADI was started in 2008 with 180 students and two disciplines. It is purely a self-financing college affiliated to the Thiruvalluvar University and approved by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. This college was run by the VANNIYAR EDUCATIONAL TRUST . Prof.V.Sundharamoorthy, M.Sc., M.Phil., (Admin) . Prof.B.Mutthazhagan, M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., , is principal of our college. Profile Ramadoss College and Social Developmental Institutions, Thindivanam, Tamil Nadu ,India, run by Vanniyar Educational Trust , has over some years of service in managing educational, social and charitable institutions, with a total of some institutions in and around Tamil Nadu. The Trust established these institutions in memory of a Vanniyar Educationals, Reverned DR.S.Ramadoss, who initially established a boys? home for students in and around TamilNadu region. Under the vision and tireless hard work of Dr.R.Govndhasamy , the Chairman & Managing Trustee and a student of Dr.S.Ramadoss, the initial establishment has grown to include 3 institutions of higher learning and social development. The Ramadoss Educational and Social Development Institutions have a proven track record of social development and gives preference to students from rural and poor families. Higher Education Under the auspices of the Trust, the Chairman and Managing Trustee Dr.R.Govindhasamy has established and now manages a wide range of educational, social and charitable institutions. A number of higher educational institutions, such as Teacher Training Institutes , Arts and sciences Colleges, College of Education, College of Nursing , have been established throughout som centres in TamilNadu district to give people of this region an opportunity to avail the best quality education at affordable and reasonable costs . School Education The Trust established a number of high schools throughout TamilNadu region to enable aspiring students from agricultural and economically backward families to benefit from affordable primary education. A total of 1 higher secondary schools, 2 high schools, 4 elementary schools have been established in various parts of Cuddalore district and they have secured many state rankings and have established themselves as a pioneer in providing quality education and producing top-class students. Chandra Schools strive to educate students from economically backward families to achieve academic excellence in all fields. Social Activities One of the most important and less publicized aspects of the Trust activities is the establishment of social welfare and development institutions such as orphanages, centers for physically and visually challenged, centers for the aged and homeless, rehabilitation center for alcohol and drug addiction, HIV / AIDS counseling center, short-stay homes for women and girls, etc., which carries on its work on a charitable basis. Every year approximately 500 students graduate from our colleges and around 500 students from our various schools. A total of 1000 students are currently enrolled in all the institutions. All Ramadoss educational institutions have gained a good reputation as disciplined and academically excellent institutions. The trust in general, and the Ramadoss Educational and Social Welfare Institutions in particular, constantly strive to explore innovative ways to educate children from all over India and to instill in them discipline and confidence, along with a solid education, to face the world.
