CR College of Education

The Chajju Ram College of Education, Hisar is one of the best colleges of education in Haryana. It was inaugurated on 6 April 1968 by the Governor of Haryana Shri B.N. Chakravarti. It was the fifth college of education in Haryana. As the region around the city of Hisar was educationally backward, the rural elite of the region, led by Justice D.S. Lamba (1929-76), decided to open a teachers training college for the rapid spread of education in the region. We took a vow to start a college at Hisar in the sweet memory of our revered Seth Chajju Ram (1865-1943). To begin with, the Chajju Ram College of Education was allotted 200 seats in B.Ed. The classes of newly established college were held in a wing of the old Jat High School building. It was built by Chajju Ram in 1929 in the memory of his son Ajit Kumar (1905-13). Having used this building for 28 years, the site of Chajju Ram College of Education has now been shifted to its own newly built campus, situated near the Akashwani Bhawan. The new campus is quite spacious and extremely beautiful. It then cost nearly Rs. 60 lacs.
