Late Shri Manoharbhai Patel, the founder of Gondia Education Society established C. J. Patel Arts, Commerce Science & P.G. College in the year 1966. Since, its establishment the college has been working for the welfare of the students of this rural area. The C. J. Patel Arts, Commerce Science & P.G college is affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur and is recognized under section 2(f) of the U.G.C. act. Overall development of the students is the chief objective of the college. The institution offered under graduate courses in Arts, Commerce ,Science and Post graduation course in Hindi Literature. Besides the under graduate & post graduate courses, the college also runs U.G.C. sponsored career oriented programmes, which include Certificate, Diploma & Advanced Diploma Courses in Communicative English, Functional Hindi, Travels & Tourism and Banking. The college has started Yashwant Rao Chavhan Maharashtra Open University study center to provide higher education to those who are deprived of formal education. Through this study centre the college runs undergraduate courses such as B.A, B.Com and also M.Phil in Hindi literature & History. Recently YCMOU also permitted to run B.Sc. Biotechnology and Bioinformatics in the college. A Junior college is also attached to the College where Arts, Science and Commerce faculties are affered to the students.
