Chaudhary-Charan-Singh-Post Graduate College

The Institution named after the Late. Ch. Charan Singh, ex-PM and person working for the interest of farmers, was founded by the local community in 1983, to provide higher education to the youths of the local area. The Institution started with a modest building catering to undergraduate courses in humanities. Later, course for B.Ed. degree was initiated in 1996. It was only during the stint of Sh. Mulayam Singh Yadav as CM of Uttar Pradesh, that College was developed into its present form. Encompassing the guidelines of UGC and other Higher Education Authorties on financial independence of Institution, most of the courses were started under the self-finance scheme. However, Management has kept the course fees to a minimum so that students from the economically weaker section of the society can fulfill the dream of acquiring the higher education. Since 2004, Institution is running PG- courses in humanities and Education, and undergraduate courses in Science (physical and biological science, including Biotechnology and Industrial Microbiology), B.Sc. - Agriculture, BBA, BCA, B.P.Ed., B. Lib. & I. Science and B.Com under the self-finance scheme. A Law School for LL.B. degree will be starting soon. Institution has well furnished buildings as Administrative block, Library, Computer Department, Law College, Art Faculty, Science Faculty and B.Ed. / B.P.Ed. Department. A huge ultra-modern Auditorium and a Guest-House is present within the College premises. A vast playground and an agricultural farm area are also part of the College. Facilities for classrooms, common rooms and rest rooms are present in all academic buildings. Separate hostels for boys and girls students are available for students coming from the distant places At present more than five thousand students are studying in various courses at College. A sociological profile of the students reveals that Institution is fulfilling its main objective of providing best higher education to the youths from socially and economically weaker section of the society. Institution is trying to provide the best academic facilities to the students so that they are at par with the students from the elite urban Institutions. Institution under the leadership of our dynamic Principal is further developing to achieve the goal of being one of the best educational institutions. Under the developmental process networking of office and office automation is going on. College is also going to start course in LL.B. soon. With all of these processes in place, institution is certainly realizing the dream of its founders and the aspirations of local community.
