In the field of higher education in Roorkee, B.S.M. (P.G.) College holds a distinct place on account of its rich historical and philanthropic background. It is at the apex of B.S.M. Society which, since 1958, has been providing quality education under the aegis of Balwant Singh Mukhiya. B.S.M. (P.G.) College was founded in 1958 by Balwant Singh Mukhiya to enable the meritorious but poor students of Uttarakhand and its neighbouring states to realise their dreams of pursuing higher education at nominal cost. Starting at graduate level, the college has made steady progress over the years. At present,a wide range of subjects is available for study at graduate level and Post Graduate level. These subjects are Commerce, Economics, Statistics, Geography, Hindi, English, History, Sociology and Political Science etc.
