Braj Mohan Das College, established in the year 1968 in a remote village of the District of Vaishali, Dayalpur, is a constituent unit of B.R.A. Bihar University, previously known as Bihar University, Muzaffarpur. The idea of the College originated in the minds of Late Brahmadeo Pd. Singh Late, Bharat Singh, Late Shyam Sundar Singh of Dayalpur, Rajendra Roy of Raja Pakar ? all freedom fighters and social activists, and Sri Shambhu Nath Singh of Dayalpur and Prahlad Singh of Ismailpur ? both educationists. All of them were very much concerned about the poor Socio-economic conditions of the people, especially the young ones, of this area, and, at the same time were aware of the fact that only better educational facilities could improve their conditions. They succeeded in translating the idea into action with the help from two benevolent local monks Mahant Braj Mohan Das (the College has been named after him) of Ismailpur Math who donated the required affiliation fee and Mahant Yugal Kishore Das of Sapaha Math who donated the required Land. Thus the College came into being as the only institution of higher learning first of its kind in an absolute rural set-up in 1968. The College retained the status of an affiliated unit of the University till 1980 when it was taken over by the Government of Bihar, and after that it became, and continues to be, a constituent unit of the same University. The College is set-up in a calm, peaceful and serene environment of a village and has campus of more than five acres full of greeneries. Infrastructurally, it has an administrative block accommodating the office of the College and a few class-rooms, the two-storied Science block accommodating the Science Labs and class-rooms for the students of the Science faculty, two interconnected new blocks, accommodating a conference-room, a larger class-room, a computer lab, Principal?s Chamber, Teachers? Room and a Bursar / Accountant office. Its premises also witness a double-storied Men?s Hostel and Women?s Hostel, a common-room facilitating indoor-games for the students a bicycle-stand, a small canteen and an adequate sports-ground.
