The institute was established in the year 1986 and first batch of Institute came into existence in the year 1991 with 02 disciplines mainly, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering for imparting engineering education and promoting all the sectors of technological development in Kumaon Region. Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Institute of Technology (BTKIT) formerly known as Kumaon Engineering College is known for academic excellence, research contributions, technological development at the industry interface worldwide. A team of highly qualified faculty, quality students & dedicated staff and good placement record are the major strength of the Institute. Presently, the institute offers Bachelors Degree in 07 disciplines of Engineering namely Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Bio-chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering & Chemical Engineering and three P.G. Courses viz. M.Tech. In VLSI (ECE), Thermal Engineering (ME) and Computer Science & Engineering (CSE). The institute is also offering Master of Computer Applications.
