Bhiwapur Mahavidhyalaya

When there were no elite educational institutions catering professional and conventional schoolings to the rural youths especially to the children of disadvantaged sections of the society in Vidarbha, it was Heavenly Bhausaheb Govindrao Mulak who pioneered the beginning of a new era in Higher Education in Maharashtra by establishing a charitable Trust namely Backward Class Youth Relief Committee (B.C.Y.R.C.) in 1974. The Trust began its stride by establishing K.D.K. College of Engineering at Nandanwan in Nagpur in 1981. Now BCYRC has developed into a full-grown tree with seventeen educational institutions scattered all over Vidarbha imparting Higher Education in all the branches of learning. Bhiwapur Taluka is a typical rural place with 137 small villages and it falls so close to the Tribal dominated, and Naxal affected villages of Armori, Korchi, Kurkheda and Wadsa in Gadchiroli District, Maharashtra. The city falls 72 K.M. away from Nagpur. Bhiwapur Mahavidyalaya, which is affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur was established in 1990 with Arts Faculty. It was established with the noble vision of imparting higher education to the rural youths for enabling them to learn locally and flourish globally in spite of the evils of poverty and inconvenience.
