Baji Rout Memorial College

Baji Rout Memorial College, Bhuban ,Dhenkal Orissa named after Baji Rout the youngest martyr & the son of soil of the world, is situated on the N.H.200 at the outskirt of Bhuban. The biggest village of Asia surrounded by river Brahmin on the south & a sylvan surrounding on the other side the college bears a solitary look most befitting for a centre of higher education. Though late by the popular will and craze for higher education, Baji Rout Memorial college was established in the year 1976. The long cherished dream of this locality ultimately materialized by the active co-operation of the people of Bhuban in general and leadership of late Kailash Chandra Mohapatra, Ex-M.L.A. & late Mohanta Pradhan in particular. The foundation stone of the college was laid by late Debendra Kumar Satpathy, Ex-M.P, Dhenkanal on 9th July 1976.Since then the College has not looked behind. On one side of the town stands the temple of Lord Budheswar and on the other hand stands the temple of learning in sylvan surrounding sprawling around more than 50 acre of land. To add to its beauty and serenity an original sal-forest stands adjacent to the college. The College started with 29 nos. of students 8 teachers & 5 nos. of nonteaching staff with only I.A classes. Over the years continuous growth has now made the college a full fledged one with Arts, Science, Commerce, & vocational wing having honours in Pol.science, history, Education, Economics, Sanskrit, Oriya, Philodophy in Arts and Accounting Honours in Commerce At Present there are 1353 nos. of students are reading in our College,41 nos. of teaching staff and 29 nos. of Non-teaching staffs are rendering their services for the all round development of the institutions. The College has also obtained U.G.C affiliation under section 2F & 12B act on dated 01.02.1993. Since then the college has availed U.G.C assistance under different schemes & utilized the same for development of the college with public contribution & assistance from OMAD fund and BRGF fund the College has grown into a sizable institution catering to the need of a large numbers of students. Also the college has received assistance form the Sports ministry, Govt. of India and has established an well equipped Gymnasium in the college premises. The college has carved a rich in the field of education in Dehenkanal District. The enthusiastic Public, Co-Operative alumne & the Active G.B of the College extended their maximum co- operation in all positive thinking's for which we could be able to face NAAC successfully in 2006. The college is now preparing for next NAAC accreditation with full vigor and enthusiasm. In the meantime office automation and a good library is at our hand with the sincerity and enthusiasm of the members of the Staff, we dream of a College which can fulfill the aspirations of the Public and students of the locality.
