Arihant College is located on the education belt of Khandwa Road in Indore (M.P.). It is an un aided private education institution. It has come into existence in the year 2006 and is making its place in the world of education as ?The Place of Innovative Education?. We are the proud recipient of ?Educational Excellence Awards? which was given to us by Honorable Home Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Babulal ji Gour for our Excellent contribution in the field of Education. It is managed under the Arihant College and Hospital Society. The college is approved by National Council for Teacher Education ( NCTE) (WRC) Bhopal and affiliated to Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore. The campus is located within 1 km from the DAVV Takshashila Campus on the main Khandwa Road, which is the main Educational belt of well established schools and colleges in Indore. This institution offers one year Bachelor Course i.e. B.Ed. Bachelor of Education (regular) with annual intake of 100 students. The admission procedure followed for the admission of the students of B.Ed. is on the basis of Entrance Examination conducted by Vyavasayik Pariksha Mandal, (VYAPAM) Bhopal, M.P. The qualifying students of entrance examination are supposed to complete their admission procedure as per the guidelines issued by Higher Education Department. M.P. government, Bhopal. The sprawling premises of Arihant College is constructed as per the norms of NCTE and has all necessary amenities needed for helping the students to develop a holistic and integrated personality, besides seeking education. The college is spread in a 5.5 acres lush green campus with the buildings comprising all modern amenities. Facilities available in the campus are ? a WiFi campus, well furnished Classrooms, Library, Science Laboratory , Computer Laboratory, Psychology Laboratory, Educational Technology Laboratory, Work Experience Laboratory, Seminar Hall, Multi-purpose Hall, Staff Room Girls? Common Room, Boys? Common Room, Rest Room, Administrative Block, Principal?s and Director?s Chambers, Separate amenity area for boys and girls. Since 2006 the college has utilized its human and infrastructure resources in the best manner to get excellent results. Committed to imparting quality and innovative education, the management is ready to provide all necessary amenities to the students, thus nurturing an all round development of the students. We have well qualified staff-members. They not only provide quality education to our students, but they themselves are very active participants of various research related programmes like National Seminars, Conferences, Workshops, Faculty Development Programme etc. which keeps them updated with the present scenario of the Teacher education. The institute also provides them facilities like ?DELNET? in the Library for providing access to e-journals for their research work. We also have an e-mail id which is exclusively created for updating the faculty members for the upcoming Seminars, Conferences, Workshops, Faculty Development Programme etc. Our faculty members also have in their names many research papers and articals published in various journals.The college has constituted 11 committees headed by IQAC cell for the management of different institutional activities. Various curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities are organized from time to time in the college as per the guidelines provided by NCTE and Devi Ahilya University, Indore. College also gives due importance to the sports .It has MP?s Largest skating rink, Swimming pool. Volley ball, Cricket ground in Outdoor sports and Indoor sports like Table tennis, Carrom, Chess etc. are also played by the student teachers during their leisure time. Other development activities like Martial arts and Yoga are also taught by the trained professionals for the overall development of the mind, body and soul. Arihant College student teachers do participate in social service drives and camps organized at college level and University level like NSS where in activities like stationery distribution to the students belonging to BPL class, self defense classes ,yoga classes, Adult education, Cleanliness drive , Plantation drive etc are undertaken by the student teachers. Besides these activities, many co curricular activities like Personality development classes, Personal grooming sessions, Seminars are organized based on information technology, Health and Health related issues, Social issues and awareness towards them, Environmental education, Value education etc. Speakers and experts from various fields are invited for delivering their lecture on the above mentioned areas. College celebrates various festivals both religious and national festivals for creating harmony and sense of brotherhood among the student-teachers. Organization of cultural programme is another effort made by the college for bringing for the hidden talents of the students teachers. Various competitions both intra and inter college level are conducted in almost all the cultural field be it singing ,dancing, poetry, instrumental music, play etc along with Rangoli, Mehendi, Face Painting, Poster Making, Slogan Writing, Essay Writing and many more. The teaching learning process is student centered and follows ICT supported pedagogy. This enables the student- teachers to integrate knowledge and skills, in a way that they can match themselves with the latest and emerging technology of education. The medium of instruction is Hindi as well as English. During teaching the faculty uses lecture method, discussion method; seminar method; demonstration method etc and various others appropriate methods to deliver an effective lecture. Teaching aids like chalkboards, white boards OHP, PPT etc are used for the same. The college has 50 computers with Internet connection. To create effective and motivating environment for the transaction of theory, an Academic calendar of various activities is prepared in the beginning of the academic session. Continuous comprehensive evaluation is conducted for the regular assessment of the student- teacher?s progress through unit test, assignments and other related activities for this. In college the teachers implement such learning methods which encourage the student?s participation through micro teaching, practice of teaching, assignments etc and develop the required skills and competencies. The weightage of the internal and external evaluation is strictly as per the norms of the affiliating University. College is the Examination Centre for conducting main theory in exams, where in near about 400 -500 students appear in examination. University gives important duties to the institution like setting of question papers, checking of answers sheets, Evaluation of practical work etc. The college also conducts various National and State level competitive Examination. College is not only dedicated towards the students of current session, but also for the pass- outs. We have ALUMNII association which gives an opportunity to the juniors to be touch with the seniors and get benefitted and motivated through their experiences and achievements. Besides this, the Training and Placement Cell of the college also updates the pass out students regarding the vacancies and the job opportunities available both in government and private sectors. Arihant College holds a vision of providing innovative education to all the learners of today?s generation, where in the learner will not only become qualified, but in fact become educated and knowledgeable. The college is committed to provide confident, dedicated, value laiden and well trained skillfull teachers and educators of the next century to the society. For this, the institution does encourage the faculty members to prepare the course outlines through unit plan. There has always been a conscious effort to introduce novel methods of teaching and learning. We are fortunate, that the University results of the B.Ed. students aspire to hold up the glory.
