A.R. College of Engineering & Technology is a private self-financing Engineering college approved by AICTE, NewDelhi and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. It is an ISO 9001:2008 certified institution. It was established in the year 2009 by A.R. Educational & Charitable Trust at Kadayam, a picturesque village with serene beauty in Ambasamudram Taluk, Tirunelveli District. Kadayam is on the banks of Ramanathi River and Jambunathi River, the two tributaries of the River Thamaraparani, at the foot of the Western Ghats. Kadayam is gifted with rich land and water resources and the World famous Courtallam waterfalls is just 20 km away. Kadayam is 50 km from Tirunelveli, 120 km from Trivandrum and Kollam and just 40 km from Aryankavu. Kadayam got its name from Kadagam, the bracelet of Goddess Kalyani Amman and the Blessings of the Goddess is always with the people who come to this location for education, recreation and trade. Thus ARCET is located at a unique place with a highly conducive environment for studies. ARCET started with Four branches of Engineering UG courses namely Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering during the academic year 2009. Two more courses, B.E. Electrical & Electronics Engineering and M.E. Applied Electronics were added in the year 2011. Also four more courses namely B.E. Automobile Engineering, B.E. Mechatronics, M.E. Computer Science & Engineering, M.E. Power Electronics were added during the academic year 2012-13. M.E. Structural Engineering and M.E. Computer Aided Design (CAD) were added during the academic year 2013-14. All the departments have well equipped laboratories and workshops. The highly dedicated, talented and intellectual staffs strive hard with all earnestness to impart quality education to the students and all other co-curricular activities. Our quality policy is to seek, to strive, to achieve and never to yield on quality of education. It is our endeavour to bring in educational and technological upliftment of the needy students of this rural population in the border areas of both Tamilnadu and Kerala.
