Rayat Shikshan Sanstha's Dahiwadi College

Dahiwadi College Dahiwadi was established in 1965 with an object of imparting higher education to the students from the poorest and downtrodden strata of the remote area of Satara District. Initially, it was started with Arts stream with English, Marathi, History and Hindi as special subjects at B.A. degree level. In the year 1984, Commerce faculty imparting education in Accountancy was started. In due course of its development special subjects such as Economics, Geography, Political Science were started in the college in June 1969, June 1973, June 1985 respectively. I nitially the college started its functioning in the premises of its sister concern Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalaya, thereafter it was shifted in the new premises. Science stream was started in June 1983, wiht PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, BOTANY and ZOOLOGY as special subjects at B.Sc. degree course. Recently, it has started a certificate course in IT of Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited and a course in Library Science of Continuing and Distance Education, Department of Shivaji University, Kolhapur on selffinance basis. Presently college runs 14 programmes of higher education under Arts, Science and Commerce streams. B.C.A. stream is started in the year 2008-2009. Post Graduate Diploma in Green Chemistry and Crop Protection and certificate course in Watershed Technique / Management has been started from year 2010-11. M. Phil/Ph.D. in Botany and Chemistry has been started from June 2011-12. M.Sc. (Chemistry) has been started from year 2012-13.
